Choosing the Best Electric Grill for Your Restaurant in Present-day 2

Best electric grill for restaurants

The restaurant griddle isn’t quite the same as the Foreman grills or portable electric grills that many consumers are used to. For all intensive purposes, the restaurant grill or griddle is essentially a hot metal plate that allows the kitchen to produce an exciting variety of dishes on demand.

If you’re buying a restaurant griddle, there are several things that are important to consider. You’ll need to learn about the power source, the size of the griddle surface, the type of griddle and the thickness of your griddle plate, for starters. When considering the purchase of a new griddle there are several factors that should be considered.

Understanding Features of the Restaurant Grade Electric Griddle available today

All restaurant griddles are going to be electric for the sake of safety and security. They will typically have their heating elements attached beneath the griddle plate and will require a space that is safe and won’t transfer heat when you store it. Some restaurants will choose a gas griddle, but supplies for this type of griddle may be hard to come by. Electricity is almost always available except in cases of a power outage. That’s why it’s the most reliable way to cook on a griddle.

What Are the Different Griddle Types?

  • Flat Griddles are the most straightforward and typically the favorite type of griddle for commercial use. This style of griddle has a lot of surface space, allowing you to cook multiple meals and fire up the griddle for a hot breakfast complete with bacon, eggs, and potatoes. There’s certainly room for versatility when you use a flat griddle, however, it’s missing some of the bells and whistles that other styles may offer.
  • Grooved Griddles offer a surface that mimics the markings you get with seared meat on a charcoal grill, which is always a bonus when you’re cooking up a meal of fish, chicken and red meats. It lends an air of authenticity to many of your main dishes. It also, however, requires a bit more cleaning than the standard flat griddle.
  • Clamshell Griddles are a popularized version of the griddle that originates with the George-Foreman models. These are smaller griddles that can accommodate fatter cuts of meat, while cutting fat. They’re also very popular for thick sandwiches such as Panini’s and grilled cheese with some extra trimmings. These are typically smaller models.

You know what type of food you plan on serving up at your restaurant, so we’re only going to go over some of the more popular commercial models. Your commercial countertop electric grill models need to be kept away from heat-sensitive products to maintain kitchen safety. Cords should be plugged in away from water.

Each type of griddle has pros and cons depending on what dishes you plan to serve. Using a commercial electric grill indoors should be a pleasant experience that adds value to your business. Don’t skimp on the prices for your commercial griddles; safety is always the utmost priority, then taste and final product are the final deciding factors. Each of the grills below has something to offer, and our favorites are the commercial flattop grills, also called “griddles”. These are the traditional indoor grills used by restaurants for at least the past 75 years, and they’ve stuck around for a reason.

I really like that you go over what different kinds of electric grills are available on the market today. Depending on what kind of food your restaurant specializes in you may need a different kind of grill after all. For example a loaded grilled cheese sandwich is probably going to need a very different grill than something like a filleted fish.
