Weber Industry History
If you can tailgate successfully with your favorite kettle grill, then you only have one man to thank for that. George Stephen, a part-owner of his sheet metal shop, became inspired by the shape of buoys. He took several parts of the buoys that were already in his shop and put together the kettle grill as we know it today.
All of this took place in 1951 when the first Weber kettle grill was invented. Stephen used to work for Weber, which already existed as Weber Brothers Metal Works. Due to the rapid success of the kettle grill, Stephen eventually bought ownership of the Weber Brothers company. He devoted his time to developing and distributing the Weber kettle grill.
Now known as the Weber-Stephen Products LLC, the company has produced thousands of grills. They make outdoor and indoor grills run on charcoal, electricity, and gas. And the company has its line of high-quality briquettes as well.
Soon in 1989, the Weber Company inaugurated its first restaurant in Illinois. The original restaurant closed in 2010. They’ve also begun to sell Flavorizer Bars that catch the fat and sauce that drizzles from your food.
So what’s the big deal with Weber? What’s so special about them, anyway? And what’s the difference between Weber Spirit E-210 vs. E-310? We could compile a whole list for you. But there’s one thing that does set Weber grills apart. And it’s longevity. Weber’s specialty grills are made from industrial-grade stainless steel. And a good majority of them feature a porcelain-enamel finish.
Your standard Weber grill can last you up to 10 years. Another thing to note about Weber is the ridiculous ease with which you can use them. Simply light your chimney starter and chuck the charcoal into the grill. The lid of every Weber kettle features the signature top vent, which allows excess smoke out. It not only prevents the fire from exhausting itself but also protects against potential CO poisoning.
But that’s not all. With every Weber BBQ grill you buy, you get accessories completely free. The goodies can include chimney starters, briquettes, and even tongs and thermometers. All of these are Weber certified.
Last but not least, it has the most amiable customer service that draws buyers near. Weber has a 24/7 helpline to guide you in the case of faulty equipment or grilling instructions.
And now that we’ve laid down the Weber specialties, it’s time to see the full Weber Spirit E-210 vs. E-310 comparison.
Weber 46110001 Spirit E210 Liquid Propane Gas Grill
If you’re the type of person that prefers a gas grill, then the Spirit E-210 is the ultimate choice. It features high durability, easy storage, and a wide cooking area.
Weber grills are all made to last. The Spirit E-210 has a stainless steel body that will keep roasting steaks for over a decade. Each cooking grate is made from cast-iron and coated with a porcelain-enamel finish. The finish performs two functions: keeping the iron underneath protected, and allowing an even spread of heat.
E-210’s gas burners feature a lot of customization. The electronic crossover ignition system is merely as simple as pressing a button. The front of the grill features two burner knobs that can be used to adjust the temperature very easily.
It is one of Weber’s paragon quality gas grills. It uses liquid propane only, so don’t try and hook up an LPG tank to it. Moreover, it can be quite annoying as LPG is cheap. The benefit here is you get a fuel gauge that indicates how much fuel you have left in your tank.
With the Weber Spirit E-210, you get the benefit of up to 450 square inches of cooking area. For smaller gatherings and parties in tight circles, the E-210 is a great choice. But for larger families, you might want to look into a different model.
Are you tired of having to look for your tools whenever you grill? The Spirit E-210 provides an easy workaround for that. This model features six hooks to hang your tools. Additionally, the front has a large steel door that can house more than just your LP tank. And the side tables fold down nicely to save garage space.
- Longer-lasting model.
- Easy access to tools.
- Saves up garage space.
- Electronic Crossover ignition.
- 450 square inches cooking area.
The Most Important Weber Spirit Grill Accessories
Weber Spirit E-310 Liquid Propane Gas Grill, 46510001
Ushering in a completely new design, the Weber Spirit E-310 is the ultimate upgrade to your grilling station. It features a broader cooking station, porcelain-enamel finish, and three propane burners.
All Weber models are made to last longer than regular BBQ grills. The lid and cooking grate of the E-310 is made from cast iron and is coated with porcelain-enamel. You’ll find most BBQ grills use porcelain-enamel, but none do it like Weber. The finish, in coordination with the three burners, helps distribute the heat evenly. So you don’t get so-called “hot spots”.
Upgraded from the E-210, the E-310 features even more burners. With the new E-310, you get three stainless steel burners. The model features an electronic ignition, so starting the grill is as easy as ever. And the Crossover system means you can start other burners by just igniting one.
Like the E-210, the E-310 uses liquid propane only. So your fuel choices are quite limited. However, the one benefit you get from this is the fuel gauge. Utilizing a fuel gauge is a great idea to avoid suddenly running out of gas. It tells you when you’re low on gas, so you can replace or refill the tank.
The most significant difference between the Weber Spirit E-210 vs. E-310 is the cooking area. This model has a cooking area of about 529 square inches. It means you’re allowed to entertain a medium-sized gathering. If you only expect smaller gatherings, then you might not want this extra feature. If you’re going to entertain a larger gathering, look for something with a cooking area of 600 square inches and above. Typically, the larger cooking area means it will take up more space. But the space difference isn’t too noticeable either.
- Larger cooking space.
- Best for medium-sized gatherings.
- Easier to clean and maintain.
- More power output.
- Even heat distribution.
So which one should you buy?
So now that we’ve laid the differences flat, it’s time to make the final comparison. Weber Spirit E-210 vs. E-310, which one is the best?
With its smaller cooking area, the E-210 is made for personal cooking. It can feed up to three or four adults. So grilling to feed your direct family or a tight circle of friends is possible on this. Or you can use it on road trips. It fits comfortably in an RV or motorhome. It’s a great option for someone who doesn’t want to grill for many people.
Contrary to that, the E-310 is the better option for cooking for larger gatherings. It can feed up to five adults at a time. The extra burners also allow you to generate more heat, so searing and charring are possible. If you can take advantage of all of its additions, then it is recommended for you to buy the E-310. Otherwise, you’ll be just as satisfied with E-210.
Aside from the differences in Weber Spirit E-210 vs. E-310, the similarities are just as vast. Both grills are run on liquid propane, so they can reach higher heat outputs even with just two burners. Both have excellent storage capabilities, and both feature Electronic Crossover ignition. So the only differences are in the people you want to serve and the slightly difference in size.
The big takeaway here is that, while both Weber grills are exceptional, only one is made for you. So use this guide to help you find the differences between Weber Spirit E-210 vs. E-310. You could alternatively not buy any of these and go for an even larger grill. But as stated before, functionality and durability are a must.
Even so, if you feel that you need a different grill, we still recommend going for a Weber model. The Weber difference can be seen in the life of the product. So never stray from Weber’s loyalty, fellow cooks!
Does the Weber Sprit E 310 have a hole on the floor? It is difficult to hang the propane bottle on the E210
Yes, in the Weber Sprit E 310 there is also a hole on the floor.
It can be solved with a bit of practice.
Spring loaded with 5 indicators (Empty to Full). Hang LP tank from it to determine how much propane is in the tank.
It didn’t seem complicated to me.
